![]() ![]() There were some jokes that should have been funny but just fell flat due to the execution ("Oppai!"). The cast was also too big and the show just ended up underdeveloping most of the characters. The gimmicks of this season felt obnoxious: the doctors making a pose or falling down to the floor when a joke is said, the AI effects, the relationship between Daimon and Tange that was ultimately reduced to eyeroll-plagued encounters. And then it hit me: the cinematography was murky and ugly. From the very first few minutes, something was wrong with it, I just didn't know what. ![]() It was such a brilliant season.Īnd then Season 6 came. Season 5 saw the series grow a sense of subtlety, an ability to hold back, to let conflict grow organically and authetically, without ever removing the badassery and the comedy the show's been known for. ![]() Season 5 was such an upgrade from everything that Doctor X was. Season 6 is Doctor X at its most cliched, predictable, and tackiest. ![]()
